Dr Victoria Betton
Victoria Betton is Chief Innovation Officer at Mindwave Ventures, a social impact design and technology company in health.
I previously founded mHabitat - a profitable, NHS-hosted digital health consultancy, successfully driving innovation in the NHS, social care and third sector. I also started Co>Space North - a pioneering digital health workspace in Leeds servicing regional digital health startups and larger organisations in the North.
My doctoral thesis addressed mental health and online social networks and more recently, I published a book entitled, Teen Mental Health in an Online World.
I am a member of the HIMSS UK Advisory Council, Leeds City Region Digital Board, an advisor for a UK digital health startup, a number of spin-off digital health consultancies, a mentor on the NHSE Clinical Entrepreneur programme, and am a trustee for Solace - a refugee and asylum seeker charity.

What you will bring to the Health & Social Care Council and the techUK Health & Social Care programme:
I have joined the commercial sector after over 20 years in the NHS, third and public sectors. With a track record in helping industry collaborate with the NHS, I am well placed to advocate for a flourishing and profitable digital sector that helps solve challenges faced by the NHS and social care.
As a member of the council I will draw on experience gained building a digital health business which focused on helping industry to design, develop and implement digital services for health and care. I will also use my learning gained from creating Co>Space North, a collaboration space in Leeds, that brings the digital health ecosystem together around events, meetups, and a successful accelerator delivered with YHAHSN.
I will bring a frank and honest approach to the council, helping Tech UK represent its members and influence policy makers. I will assist Tech UK in working through complex issues and articulate them in a compelling way to its stakeholders. I will bring the voice of smaller SMEs to the table.
I would really enjoy getting stuck in to making a difference with and for fellow members of Tech UK, helping our sector do great things.
