What you will bring to the Health & Social Care Council and the techUK Health & Social Care programme:
Having worked across a wide range of healthcare and technology organisations I have be able to develop a clear view, in both the UK and the rest of the world, of the impact that technology can have on healthcare. Through this experience, seeing both what has worked and what has not, I understand the necessary ingredients to ensure the successful digital and clinical transformation of healthcare services. The most important factor being the alignment of national government, industry, healthcare providers and, of course, patients, driven through clinical engagement.
The health and social care technology industry has an ever-increasing amount to offer society in terms of improvements in health and wellbeing for individuals and whole populations. Complex technologies, such as cloud-based computing, are now more available, less costly and quicker to implement. They allow healthcare organisations to operate with increasing efficiency, more productively and to innovate more rapidly. I believe that the industry plays a key role in promoting and influencing the progress of this transformation for the benefit of citizens and patients. TechUk is a key enabler for this and if called I would be delighted to serve on the Health and Social Care Council.
