I am Chief Operating Officer at the System C & Graphnet Care Alliance and responsible for strategy, delivery and business development. I was previously Director of Digital Transformation at NHS Digital and Director of Digital Technology at NHS England, responsible for the delivery of the Technology Funds, Local Digital Roadmaps and Digital Maturity, NHS e-Referrals, Patient Online and Electronic Prescriptions. I was Managing Director of Health at Capita and have worked in performance improvement and operational roles in big-five consulting companies, the Department of Health and the NHS. I am also Founding Ambassador of One HealthTech - a community that campaigns for better inclusion of all backgrounds, skill sets and disciplines in healthtech.
My proudest achievements have been the creation of NHS Choices in 2007 whilst at the Department of Health and being awarded Women in IT 'Digital Leader of the Year' 2017.
My ambition is to enhance the daily working lives of health and social care professionals through the introduction of usable technologies. I believe technology has the potential to support the transformation of the NHS and social care by giving clinicians and users access to necessary information and knowledge to speed up diagnosis, maximise effectiveness and meet patient expectations.
I really enjoyed working in policy which involved thinking strategically, setting programmes and pitching them to senior people such as the Secretary of State and the chief executive of NHS England. I believe this valuable insight into the policy making process would be useful to techUK’s council and programmes.
My focus now that I’m working on the supplier side is is to carry on doing what I set out to do in a delivery role and digitise health and social care. It gives me the chance roll my sleeves up and make a difference at the sharp end of the industry.
I would like to bring my experience and vision to techUK to work with care professionals and suppliers to determine and deliver a health and social care programme that can support service transformation.
